Bear In the Park

Monday morning, a bear opened the door of an RV at the far end of the park. Fortunately, the bear went away when the person yelled at it.

Please ensure that you are doing everything you can to deter bears from your RV. No food garbage in cars. Also no food garbage in the washrooms or laundry. The 300 level is of particular interest as it is right next to the bear path.

This behaviour should lessen next month as food becomes available at higher elevations (away from humans). In the meantime, we suggest you get a bear horn. If you set off your horn (even if it is early in the morning or late at night), you will warn everyone in the park that there is a bear in the vicinity, and alert them to be cautious when moving outside.
