Thanks to everyone who came out for our third annual emergency preparation session. We appreciate your support in keeping the park safe in an emergency. It is important to remember that we are NOT located in a zone with a fire hall. In the majority of emergencies, we will be on our own.
For the first time in 3 years, the fire demonstration worked seamlessly. To update those who have attended in the past, we have replaced all the ends on the hose, so there is only one type of end. The other issue was water pressure. We have decided to keep all 3 pumps on during the height of the fire season (May to October).
While our focus is on fire, we also spent time learning to operate the generator during a power outage, so that water keeps flowing in the park.
Whether you came out for your first time or for a review, your presence is welcome as we refine our systems. The whole point of doing drills is to see how prepared we are, and we make important improvements after each session.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email or text me.
